Born in Texas, Lela Rose attended college in Colorado and shortly after moved to New York City where she pursued a degree in Fashion Design at Parson’s School of Design. She went on to work with esteemed designers such as Richard Tyler and Christian Francis Roth. In 1998, Lela broke away from these widely renowned designers and debuted her own ready-to-wear and bridal line Lela Rose created by a proven network of artisans, sewers, pattern-makers and manufacturers in New York City.

Lela’s artistic background was evident in her brilliant use of color, rich fabrics, silhouettes and handcrafted details that mimicked the setting sun and contrasting sea hues. Each piece was like a speciality cocktail with small metallic accents in copper and gunmetal distinctively finishing the look paired with unique runway sunglasses which boasted small daisy embellishments–very 1940s. The collection exuded casual luxury and refinement almost like a scene taken directly from The Notebook.
