Cocktail hour can be a tricky event to dress for and although I am a huge fan of the LBD, and I mean HUGE fan..(I have 10 little black dresses in my wardrobe as we speak..), I feel that it is almost too much of a safe bet – a classic. Every woman should own at least one cocktail dress that is a bit bolder and more daring, something with a bit of color that makes a statement.

For this particular look, I am wearing a white sleeveless polyester porcelain print flare dress. I opted for a floral pattern in various shades of blue. It is a classy yet fun way to wear this year’s pattern trend without being too flashy. What makes this look appropriate is the fact that although the length might be short, it has a high neckline which balances out the look. As for accessories, since my dress had a floral vibe, I stuck with classy and feminine white flower pearl earrings and a sterling silver blossom ring. To keep it simple. I didn’t overdo the bracelets and just wore a standard Tiffany & Co. charm. As for shoes, being that I’d be out and on the go, I wore a pair of beige high heeled wedges with once again, you guessed it, a floral lace pattern. Last but not least, if you want to turn the look from fun to classy for an evening out, couple it with a pair of eyeglasses.

Wearing a colorful patterned dress for cocktail hour is a bold move and is something to try this season. So grab a pair of heels, slip into a sassy patterned dress, head on over to Cocktail hour and order yourself a nice Negroni on the rocks!
